🗑️ Data Deletion Request

At Caishenye Digital Temple, we respect your privacy and your right to control your data. This page explains how to request deletion of your data from our platform.
What Data We Store
When you use our service, we may store:
- Profile Information: Name, email, profile picture (from social login)
- Spiritual Journey Data: I-Ching readings, incense offerings, lucky numbers
- Account Data: Login method, registration date, usage statistics
- Transaction History: Donations and subscription records (required for financial compliance)
⚠️ Important: Most of your data is stored locally in your browser. Clearing your browser data will delete this information. The methods below are for requesting deletion of data stored on our servers.
Methods to Delete Your Data
Method 1: Delete Account from Within the App (Recommended)
The easiest way to delete your account and data:
- Log in to caishenye.online
- Click on your profile (top right corner)
- Click "Profile" button
- Click "Delete Account" button
- Confirm deletion
What gets deleted: All your spiritual journey data, account information, and preferences. Transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.
Method 2: Export Your Data First (Optional)
Before deleting, you can download a copy of your data:
- Log in to caishenye.online
- Click your profile → "Profile"
- Click "💾 Export My Data"
- A JSON file will download with all your data
- Then follow Method 1 to delete your account
Method 3: Request Deletion via Email
If you cannot access your account or prefer manual assistance:
- Send an email to:
support@caishenye.online
- Use subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Include in your email:
- Full name
- Email address used for registration
- Login method (Google, Facebook, Email)
- Confirmation: "I request complete deletion of my account and data"
- We will process your request within 30 days
- You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete
Method 4: Facebook Account Deletion
If you signed in with Facebook and delete your Facebook account:
- Facebook will automatically notify us of your account deletion
- We will delete your Caishenye data within 30 days
- You will not receive a confirmation email (since your Facebook account is deleted)
Data Deletion Timeline
- Immediate: Profile information, spiritual journey data, preferences
- 30 days: Backup copies removed from all systems
- 7 years: Financial transaction records (legal requirement for tax/audit purposes)
What Cannot Be Deleted
Due to legal and compliance requirements, we must retain:
- Financial Records: Payment transactions, subscription history (7 years)
- Fraud Prevention: Records of banned/suspended accounts (to prevent re-registration)
- Legal Compliance: Data required by law enforcement or court orders
These records are kept in secure, encrypted storage and are not used for marketing or other purposes.
Revoking App Access
If you logged in with Google:
- Go to Google Account Permissions
- Find "Caishenye Digital Temple"
- Click "Remove Access"
If you logged in with Facebook:
- Go to Facebook Apps and Websites
- Find "Caishenye Digital Temple"
- Click "Remove"
Note: Revoking access only disconnects the login method. To delete your data, use the methods above.
Your Privacy Rights
Under data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, PDPA), you have the right to:
- ✅ Access: Request a copy of your data
- ✅ Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- ✅ Erasure: Delete your data (as described above)
- ✅ Portability: Export your data in a standard format
- ✅ Objection: Object to data processing
